The Head of IT Cross Product Team is a senior manager position responsible for the oversight of the product ownership function within GPB SWD Americas. In overseeing the product ownership function this person will ensure that all products and projects are adequately supported and that the best practices are deployed effectively to ensure a consistent and predictable approach is followed for all software delivery initiatives. In addition, this person will be dual-hatted as the IT product owner of one of the four product domains.As part of the senior management teams for the Americas this person will help define and execute IT strategy in line with business and operational priorities and the Global SWD strategy, priorities, standards and Future State Architecture.The Head of IT Cross Product team is responsible for the management of a regional team of approx. 8-10 staff in onshore locations with additional resources off shore.ResponsibilitiesThe Head of IT Cross Product team will have responsibilities across three specific areas:Program Management:Manage a cross functional team of onshore and offshore Project Managers, Business Analysts, Technical AnalystsAccountable for the project management, design of the solutions, releases & fix patchesHelp improve the process for capturing requirements and ensuring full traceability into design, development and testing activities through the use of Use Cases and User Stories to ensure full tracability that support impact analysis and quality metricsWork with Development, Change Management, Testing and Support functions to ensure that all projects are adequately staffed with the appropriate skill-setsEstablish & maintain relationship with the business, colleagues, across SWD, Information Security, Compliance, Marketing, Enterprise Architecture groups, Implementation and supportDevelop the bridge between business and IT; work collaboratively with the Development teams on the understanding of the requirements and proposed solution to support the business propositionsSupport a model for change requests, requirements capture and tracking of the requirements (RTC)Financial management of the program and projectsProduct Management:Propose/Support the Target Operating model for product management. Communication on format for product roadmap (functional & technical), mapping to project deliverables,Establish Product Management practice that includesHelp define and maintain a 3+ year roadmap based on discussions with business stakeholders at various levels such as the Business Group Heads, Relationship Managers, Support teams, Change Delivery teams and technical members of the teamLeverage the business strategy, align and prioritize the functionality that can be offered over the 6, 12 and 18+ monthsRegular communication on the product, release milestones, change requests and requirementsPeriodically, schedule demos and product feedback forumsProduct Ownership:As owner of the Client Facing Product Domain the of IT Cross Product team will be responsible for applying the product management principles in the context of this domainManagement of RiskEnsure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issuesPromote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brandObservation of Internal ControlsMaintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulatorsQualificationsSkills RequiredExperience of managing a diverse, cross functional team of IT professionals in a financial services company and preferably an International Private BankExtensive knowledge of and understanding of complex IT environmentsExcellent understanding of software delivery lifecycle, planning and resource management best practiceExperience managing large projects/programmes
