Lead Cognos BI Developer. All Front End Cognos development. This is an extremely strong person with very good soft skills. No direct reports or leadership but rather a group leader. Must be an expert in Cognos Frontend Development. Must have excellent dev skills around Framework Manager, Report Studio and Transformer. Excellent SQL Skills any Cognos SDK, Cognos Metrics Studio or Event Stuido a plus. Watson Analytics is a Plus. The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for designing and developing Business Intelligence (BI) Front End solutions. The position is also responsible for requirements gathering, project management, constructing functional designs, communicating with team members and business stakeholders, and supporting existing Business Intelligence applications. Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: Responsible for the design, development, and support of BI Front End solutions in Cognos Responsible for requirements gathering and project management of BI projects Providing Cognos training to business users Promote BI solutions/capabilities to the business user community Interacting with other BI team members, offshore team members, and cross-IT staff on support and project activities Minimum Requirements: 4 year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or in a related discipline 6 - 8 years of relevant work experience, particularly as, software programmer or business analyst At least 3 years of BI application development experience At least 2 years Cognos experience Strong communication skills Strong written and verbal skills Strong problem solving and analytical skills Strong presentation skills including the ability to interact with top-level business leaders Must exemplify leadership and salesmanship qualities to promote BI solutions throughout the organization Strong competence in gathering and documenting business requirements, defining optimal BI solutions to business problems Excellent Cognos development skills, specifically around Framework Manager, Report Studio, Transformer Excellent SQL skills Strong understanding of SDLC best practices with an emphasis on DW/BI practices
